With emergency services stretched to capacity Hills Waste have asked residents to follow the advice from Wiltshire Council not to have bonfires. Not only does it help vulnerable people with respiratory problems but it also stops the fire service being called out to false alarms.
Hills appreciate the concern of the member of the public who raised the alarm last Sunday at the landfill at Lower Compton however there was no fire and the smoke seen was from a residents bonfire.
